• The Hawksbill Sea Turtle is known for its pointed beak and beautiful patterned shells which are highly sought after and sold as tortoiseshells. This has sadly lead them to being hunted to the point of being Critically Endangered. Their populations are also affected by loss of habitat, excessive egg collecting, and marine pollution.
• Fun Fact : They feed on sponges, sea anemones, and jelly fish. Unfortunately this is why they sometimes mistake clear plastic bags for jelly fish while feeding.
